Using built in search/replace can find hard returns?

Trying to replace html tags with hard returns between them. Such as:
```
<strong>
<p>
```
But couldn't find a way.

Tried several approaches? First tried cut-n-paste. No success. Then tried:
```
<strong>\\n<p>
```
Is this even possible?
