Does Benoquin work if you don't have vitiligo?
-
Benoquin, or monobenzone, is a depigmenting agent primarily used to treat vitiligo, a skin condition where patches of skin lose their pigment. It works by permanently lightening the skin in the affected areas to match the surrounding areas with less pigment.
Using Benoquin without a vitiligo diagnosis or without medical supervision isn't recommended. It's a potent agent that can cause permanent skin depigmentation, and using it without proper guidance or for purposes other than prescribed can lead to unintended and irreversible skin changes. Always consult a dermatologist or healthcare professional before considering or using any medication for off-label purposes.
