      Having several problems with the v1.2 update, and they are making Editorial almost unusable:

      1. Press top bar in app to scroll to top of screen in a internal browser window, and the document editing window also goes up. If you're looking through the web for information and return to your document you have to find your current position again;

      2. Tap to start editing document and the document will scroll up when the keyboard opens, making the curser off screen;

      3. When using a long press to highlight a word (which worked in previous version) in document editor, get a magnifying bubble popping up (like usual) AND the document starts scrolling up so I can't place the cursor or get the pop up to use "Select", "Select All", etc.;

      4. The "Convert to PDF" workflow included in the v1.2 app doesn't seem to work even on a single line .md file I tested it on;

      5. Images (in Dropbox - did not test locally) do not print successfully even if they show up correctly in the Preview (previous versions of Editorial also had this problem);

      6. I've had v1.2 crash a few times, and when it does the only fix I've found is to reinstall, as after the first crash it keeps on crashing no matter what I do (the following did not work - force remove from memory, reboot iPad, turn off wifi before starting app).

      Any help to fix these issues would be greatly appreciated.

      Currently running iPad2 (7.1.1)

        Dear Ole,

        thank you very much for the new version 1.2 of Editorial - feature-wise, it should should have been called 1.5 or even 2.0!

        Having said that, I have to agree with abbadOn that this version has several major issues, at least for combinations older hard- and software (I have an iPad mini with iOS 7.1.2).

        I can confirm point 6 of abbadOn's list, although so far I've only had to restart Editorial once - fingers crossed…

        The other points I haven't tested yet, but I can add another one:

        1. The "best" way to crash Editorial has been to try and use the very welcome folding functionality: Every time I tap on a folding triangle, Editorial immediately goes down. This happens for both Markdown & TaskPaper documents, and it doesn't seem to matter how large the sections to be folded are.

        Best regards, Rainer

          Hello,

          I can also confirm the crash (point 6) with iOS7.
          Work around: Do not ever remove Editorial from memory! If you do you will have to reinstall.

          (Loving Editorial on my iPhone 6 !)

            Hello Ole,

            I can confirm the same issue here: iPad 2 with iOS 7.1.2 and as soon as I touch a folding triangle Editorial keeps crashing right after launch. As I'm new to Editorial, but a loyal Pythonista user I'd like to switch over to Editorial form my current Markdown editor. Appreciating any feedback, thanks in advance.
            Also removing Editorial from memory starts the crash loop.

            Best regards from Bavaria,
            Armin

            Update
            PS: Ok, just found out that Editorial keeps scrolling if I try to mark anything of use the text selection function. With and without the Logitech bluetooth keyboard the input cursor jumps out of view after I start typing. If you need more information, feel free to contact me.

              I'm sorry about these issues. I'm working on some iOS 7 fixes for the next minor bugfix release – it should be out pretty soon.

              I realize now that I haven't tested nearly enough on iOS 7 – Unfortunately, TestFlight (Apple's beta distribution service) only works on iOS 8+, so I didn't have any external testers on iOS 7. I don't use iOS 7 on a day-to-day basis myself, so a lot more bugs slipped through.

              I'm also curious: Is there a particular reason why you still use iOS 7? I will probably drop support for it in Editorial 1.3, so it would be useful to know what keeps people from upgrading.

                In my case I didn't upgrade since I'm still using an iPhone 4 which doesn't support iOS 8, and even if I did update my iPad 2 I would then have problems with only one of my devices supporting iCloud Drive, and I've heard that iCloud data gets converted to another format. Maybe in a year I'll get a new one, but currently that isn't an option.

                  IOS 7 has a smaller footprint and runs faster on my original iPad mini. This may change with iOS9 so I would be OK with dropping support for old OSs. Security will be higher with few jailbreak possibilities but development will improve and be more focused.

                  Thanks for a great App!

                    Dear Ole,
                    Thanks a lot for your update and all those amazing enhancements!

                    However there are some issues (iPad2 iPhone5s iOS 8.3), I wonder:

                    • How to fix the "javascript" URL scheme error? Internal Browser does not further handle my previously often used bookmarklet:
                      javascript:%20document.querySelector(%22meta%5Bname=viewport%5D%22).setAttribute('content',%20'width=device-width;%20initial-scale=1.0;%20maximum-scale=3.0;%20user-scalable=1;');%20void(0);
                    • Browser web tabs and its title are kept well over time and any task/app jump, but after more or less time when memory was swapped out the reload icon disappears, only close tab icon is shown...
                    • Why/when the surf history of an browser web tab gets lost ... seams already after doing some editing/previewing only?
                    • DropBox (subfolder) synchronisation works not properly. iPhone 5s first did not found a word which was present in iPad's search results. Dropbox root sync tap did not help. Entering the sub directory and searching fails also until repeated sync from within that subfolder.

                    Global search inside all files felt more convenient formerly because the search string was taken over into the editors search field, allowing for effortless quick scrolling to requested context. Now tap on in-editor search (required!) will show circulate/jump arrows, however, without feedback of the string taken over.

                    How would it be possible to open any inside browser web page (or Dropbox file) using just that html-mode with syntax highlighting as used for your Preview style editing?

                    Best regards
                    Olaf from Hamburg

                      Hello,
                      Indeed editorial is a great piece of software. In a mission to not flood the forum with new threads, I want to add some more issues here that I discovered in this thread:

                      • When using a workflow in templates, UI does not show up (e.g. I want to ask for input when making a new file, and that UI does not show up, but it works when I trigger that from a different location in the app)
                      • When reordering items in markdown, the view sometimes scrolls unexpectedly and this disorientates

                      Further suggestions:

                      • When tapping a reorder handle, select text of the complete line/ reorder item (for deletion, changing, workflow usage etc.)
                      • module or accessible value for the url of a browser tabs url and title (e.g. For inserting the current open tab website as a markdown URL)

                      Thanks for the super great 1.2 update and I'm looking forward to these small bug fixes.
                      Regards

                        @GenericUser

                        When tapping a reorder handle, select text of the complete line/ reorder item (for deletion, changing, workflow usage etc.)

                        You can tap with two fingers to select an entire line.

                        module or accessible value for the url of a browser tabs url and title (e.g. For inserting the current open tab website as a markdown URL)

                        There are built-in Browser URL and Browser Title workflow variables for that (in the "Editor" category), they only work for the current tab, but that's usually what you'd want anyway.

                          Thanks, didn't try that. Maybe that is something that should show up in the auto complete of the documentation search bar where it took me after not finding them.

                            I am encountering sync errors every time the app tries to sync with my Dropbox account, here's a pic of the error I receive:

                            https://www.dropbox.com/s/qf4cb9f78c7v065/sync-error.png?dl=0

                            iOS 8.3, iPhone5, Editorial 1.2

                            approx 1100 text files in directory, but majority are tiny

                            any ideas?
                            thanks in adv

                              Since the 1.2 update the browser bookmarks URL field denies javascript:....

                              I have tried a lot to get some extensively used bookmarklets running again by using the new introduced module Evaluate JavaScript instead.
                              In case of simply scrolling to page bottom or unlocking viewport zoom I was successful so far.

                              But slightly more complex snippets as the official Firebug Lite code do not work here:
                              (function(F,i,r,e,b,u,g,L,I,T,E){if(F.getElementById(b))return;E=F[i+'NS']&&F.documentElement.namespaceURI;E=E?F[i+'NS'](E,'script'):F[i]('script');E[r]('id',b);E[r]('src',I+g+T);E[r](b,u);(F[e]('head')[0]||F[e]('body')[0]).appendChild(E);E=new%20Image;E[r]('src',I+L);})(document,'createElement','setAttribute','getElementsByTagName','FirebugLite','4','firebug-lite.js','releases/lite/latest/skin/xp/sprite.png','https://getfirebug.com/','#startOpened');

                              Same code with leading javascript: does work very well in Safari bookmark url, what is going wrong here?
