Hi I was wondering if you can play m3u streams with this? If not could you load it in another app for playback?

i have not tried, but i have read you can load the url into a webview. Otherwise, there may be a way with objc in the beta

.m3u files are playlists, not songs.
http://osxdaily.com/2014/02/06/play-convert-m3u-file-mac/ Describes the fact that the .m3u file contains no audio content but instead is a playlist that contains links to the songs. This leaves you with three options:
- Pass the URL to another app (iTunes?) to open,
- Download the file and then do an open-in to another app
- Download the file and then follow each link to download and play each song in the playlist

Assuming the question relates to http live steaming uses of m3u, and not just playlists that point to local files, safari on ios can natively play m3u streams. you still have to press the "play" button.
