      Hello,

I've been reading some of the reviews and posts here, and I'm a bit confused about how Dropbox is integrated compared to what I'm used to with other editors I've used. (I used to use Notesy and currently use WriteUp.)

These apps generally store local copies, which are sync'd with Dropbox (typically within a chosen folder structure). This allows easy off-line work, but yet keeps things up to date with Dropbox, allowing editing from the desktop computer as well (as long as you're a bit careful so you don't get changes made in two places). Anyway, this workflow has worked pretty well for me.

In Editorial, it sounds like there is 'local' and 'Dropbox' storage. Does it live-edit the Dropbox files while on-line, and only store locally if you copy the file to the 'local' area? That would create a lot more complexity to my workflow without some scripting work... though I can see benefits too. Or, am I misunderstanding this... and 'local' is just a non-sync'd area, separate from Dropbox?

Also, I've seen some of the posts about needing to add scripting to move things or delete them, etc. While I can appreciate the power behind scripting (I did a tiny bit of Python work in a previous IT role), these seem like pretty basic features. I understand this is an initial release, but I'm hoping stuff like that gets added. I want to spend my scripting time adding power or speciality workflows, not creating basic functionality. So, I'm just asking this go get a general feel for where this app is going.

      Thanks much!

Editorial already has the basic functionality built-in. You can :

        • create / delete / move files / folder within the respective storage location, i.e. either local or on Dropbox. There is no need to use a workflow for that. However, depending on your specific needs they can make life easier.

        Regarding the storage location :

        • local is as the word implies local and does not need any internet connection
        • Dropbox downloads a copy of the file ( but still separated from the local storage mentioned before ) and you can work with it / them offline, no problems with that

It sounds like Editorial does everything you would expect ;)
