Is it possible to get the name of the app which starts a Pythonista script via the share extension (appex)?
I want to have only one script in the share sheet and this script should recognize by which app it has been started, thus which kind of data is shared and thus which script it has to "chain" it-self. Eventually a nice menu with proper icons may be presented to the user if several scripts could be called by the same app.

I don't think that is possible. There apparantly were some privacy leaks in ios8 that let you access process list, etc, but no longer un ios9. If the app is sending a file, depending in how it sends it, you might get some info from the appex url, but you'd have to try it and see.

Thanks, that's what I think also, but I still hoped 😊
A lot of apps share an URL thus it's rarely possible to identify which app...
          Not vital!
